What is Stress?
Stress is often thought of as a mental or emotional experience: deadlines, financial pressure, family responsibilities, or the constant feeling of being “on.” Pain, on the other hand, is usually blamed on something physical: an injury, poor posture, or a degenerative change seen on imaging.
A common misconception is that pain equals damage. While injury can certainly cause pain, pain itself is actually produced by the brain based on the information it receives from the body and things around us.
Your nervous system constantly asks one key question: “Am I safe?”
When the answer leans toward “no,” the brain may increase pain as a protective response.

- Reduced core stability
3. Heightened Nervous System Sensitivity

This process is often referred to as sensitization, and it explains why pain can persist even after tissues have healed.
