- Who can benefit from seeing a chiropractor?Anyone! Whether you’ve: Recently injured yourself (like hurting your back or rolling an ankle), have ongoing aches and pains, or want to move better and work toward health or performance goals— our team is here to support you.
- Do I need an initial assessment?Yes. A thorough initial assessment allows us to understand the root cause of your concerns and create the best treatment plan. Your first visit includes:
- A discussion about your current concerns and health history.
- A physical exam to identify which joints, tissues, or movements may be involved.
- A diagnosis and a conversation about treatment options.
- What do treatments look like?No two sessions look the same. Treatment may include a combination of:
- Education
- Soft tissue therapy
- Joint mobilizations + adjustments
- Acupuncture or cupping
- Percussion therapy
- Active rehabilitation
- How many treatments will I need?It depends on your condition, history, and goals. Some patients feel better within 1–3 sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. At function, every patient receives a personalized plan designed to get you feeling better as efficiently as possible—while giving you the knowledge and tools to take an active role in your recovery.
- What’s that popping sound during an adjustment? That sound is simply gas releasing from the joint—not bones “cracking.” Adjustments can help restore motion and reduce muscle tension, but your comfort is always our priority. If you’re not comfortable with adjustments, we have many other options to achieve similar results.
- Will I only get adjustments? Not at all. Adjustments are just one tool we use. Depending on your case and preferences, we may recommend soft tissue therapy, mobilizations, acupuncture, rehab exercises, or a combination of approaches.
- How long are treatment sessions?Follow-up visits are typically 25–30 minutes. Your care will always be tailored to your needs, using the most effective techniques for your goals.
- Do you bill directly to insurance? We don’t offer direct billing. However, we provide detailed receipts that contain all the information your insurance provider requires. Most patients are reimbursed within 24–48 hours.
- Do I have to keep coming back once I start? No. Our goal is to get you feeling and moving better in as few sessions as possible. We follow an evidence-based model of care—which means your treatment plan is guided by the latest research, clinical expertise, and your own preferences.
- Do you offer acupuncture?Yes. Both Dr. Andrew Thomson (Chiropractor) and Dr. Sarah Thomson (Naturopathic Doctor) offer acupuncture as part of their treatment plans.
